Experiences with my new Terminus R606

Ordered mine from this user on August 17, but it was back-ordered. Got an update on the 23rd saying it would ship on the 27th... ended up receiving it on August 31. So, not too shabby for a 14-day wait considering it was out of stock.

I did the same, using zpool right now to test it out. Just cleaning up some coins, probably gonna hit up a dozen pools before I end up on kano.is or go solo at ckpool.

Planning to test all the settings soon... for now, I got some initial readings: Setting 0: Setting 1: Setting 2: Setting 3: Setting 4: - Started at 750 MHz in CG miner: - First plateau at 605.73 MHz, rebooted to 631.25 MHz, and back down to 618 MHz after some adjustments.

You might wanna check if a USB hub helps mine wouldn’t even boot if plugged right into the PC.

K switched to ViaBTC and everything's smooth. Pool issues could’ve been the problem.

I remember it having issues switching pools... it struggles with that.

Yeah but I'm only running one pool right now, keeping it simple.

Got my RMA sorted, new unit is running fine now. Messing with voltage and frequency. Will share more as I tweak the settings.

Nice results on Voltage settings 4 and 5! What did you get for setting 6?

Had to lower my target frequency to 690 after some restarts at 700 MHz. Hoping setting 7 is more stable.

What happened for you to hit 81 dB? Mine are super quiet, I barely notice them.

Haha, that’s probably the loudest it gets... meter was right on the exhaust. Gonna retake the reading without the Apollo running.

My GPUs are definitely louder than my R606!

My sound readings are tricky since I don't have a soundproof space. Gotta account for ambient noise too.

Checked sound levels on my miners with extra fans running, read 30 dB. With those fans off, it dropped to 22 dB. What do you have going on?

Do your readings factor out ambient noise? Mine reads about 25 dB when the miner's off, pretty sure my app is acting up too.

Yeah, using an app too, mine's on Android though. Placing it near the exit fans works well, they're super quiet. My office is also the bedroom, and we sleep fine.

Does your app reset with ambient noise? I get high readings at work, but only 25-30 dB at home. Can't sleep with the miner running though.
