Damn, you beat me to it! Been working on something similar myself.
- Is a USB-C Powered Miner Feasible?Oct 17, 2025
Klintay had a solid 16-port hub with a built-in power supply. Wonder if a mixed port hub would work, like 4 USB-A and 4 USB-C.
- Is a USB-C Powered Miner Feasible?Oct 14, 2025
Found some chargers on Amazon but nothing that does data and PD. USB-C PD is supposed to work with HDDs, printers, etc. Weird.

Decent hubs are rare too. Most just split into USB-A, HDMI, etc. I remember when USB-C was new, so many wanted miners using it. Still no good options.

Just got an ASUS TUF X570 Gaming board with various connections. No clue what that means for power though.
- Is a USB-C Powered Miner Feasible?Oct 9, 2025
I have over 30 motherboards, some with USB-C. Just need to check which ones support real USB-C.

Hey everyone. Quick question about something I'm thinking of.
- Experiences with my new Terminus R606Jun 13, 2024
Had to lower my target frequency to 690 after some restarts at 700 MHz. Hoping setting 7 is more stable.
- GekkoScience NewPac and Terminus R606 DiscussionMar 20, 2024
My two are still hashing away on bravo-mining. Just checked the stats.
Exactly, it’s about heat density. If the unit is larger, airflow can be slower, meaning quieter fans.
True, but remember that temp readings only show a few spots on the board. One chip could be overheating without any signs. Running without a heatsink can lead to quick failure, and that could mess up the whole board.
- Introducing the Antminer T9 Bitcoin MinerJul 4, 2021
Also, we’ve got another 50 T9s coming in early March. Hit me up if you want one.
Remember when liquid cooling was used a lot in earlier miners? They figured out it was pricey and kinda unreliable. So we ended up with air-cooled models instead. But hey, when you need power, I guess it makes sense.
Power use is totally flexible. You can tweak the voltage and frequency, but just don’t push it over 120W, or it might get dicey. It can dip below 20W too if you set it right.
Check out the latest from GekkoScience, the R606 miner is finally here! It's quiet and adjustable, perfect for home setups.
- Thoughts on the Hotmine X6 ASIC MinerDec 15, 2017
I mean, there’s gotta be someone out there who’ll still support the X6 or similar models. Not everyone wants a monster miner, right? Some of us just want a solid, efficient setup.
Just a heads up, those sample sticks aren’t compatible with BFG or cgminer-gekko yet. The new software uses unique strings for IDing. The Icarus driver doesn't handle that, so it identifies as a U3 on stock cgminer,…
