I’ve got a single board and a dual board setup. Just a teaser for now but I swear these boards are more efficient than the original Bitmain ones.
Got some pics to share. The new hash board fits perfectly in the S9 case. Just a heads-up, I blocked out the serial number for privacy.
Updated! I received an upgrade kit today with three drop-in hash boards. If you’ve got spare S9s, might wanna hold off till my tests are done this week.
I’ll be testing the boards at three different speeds for both one board and two board setups. Will share the info here and maybe a video on YouTube too.
I’ll have those results this Sunday. These PCB boards are the same size as the original. Makes installation a breeze.
Wait, so you’re saying this is from a different company? Like, not Bitmain at all?
Exactly! They’re pumping out boards with 51 chips instead of the usual 63. But hey, the PCB size is spot on.
Here’s a little update the new boards consume 616 watts and yield around 11 TH. That’s about 56-57 watts per TH, still need to run more tests though.
I’m loving these new hash boards. Just ordered some quality fans for testing. Locked the old S9 mod threads for now by the way.
Keep me posted when those fans drop. I’ve got an S9 just waiting to be upgraded. Might even be able to run it at home without a problem.
The new boards definitely need some tweaking, especially with the cooling fans. The stock ones are pretty terrible.
I hear you. I’ve ordered better quality fans too. The ones I had were decent but I can’t wait to see how the new ones do.
Good to know the new fans should help. I’m aiming for low power consumption while still keeping decent performance.
I could use up to four boards in my two S9 cases. Planning to donate the old ones to a buddy of mine.
Two board setups are running okay for me. I’m hitting around 54 watts at 450 frequency.
Are these boards using the same Xilinx controllers? Just curious about the tech side of things.
Yeah, they do use similar controllers. Lots of folks have had success with custom firmware on different gears too.
This sounds pretty manageable. What’s the best watts per TH you’ve hit? I’m guessing 80 degrees Celsius is a safe limit?
I’m hitting 54-56 watts with my design. But it’s all about balancing the cooling without making it too noisy.
