Hey everyone, I'm pretty new to investing and trading. Recently, I’ve been thinking about putting money into hardware. Like Bitcoin mining rigs, and maybe even e-sports stuff. What do you all think? Could the prices go up? Share your thoughts.
Thoughts on Investing in Mining Hardware

Investing in hardware could work if you have experience and can sell it at the right moment. But honestly, most electronics lose value over time because there's always something better coming out. Plus, Bitcoin mining's getting tougher. So if you’re not experienced, it’s risky to just buy hardware hoping for profit.
Yeah, I feel like we're just at the beginning of a huge growth phase. Still early days, and I think we could see some major deflation soon.

Are you talking about mining rigs specifically? If so, I'd say it's a bad move. New graphic cards are coming out every month, and mining equipment gets outdated fast. Might be smarter to just invest in coins like Bitcoin or Ethereum instead. They might really increase this year. Just my opinion though.
I actually think there's value in hardware investing, but you gotta hunt for good deals and be patient. Chasing highs is a recipe for disaster, but if you're careful, you could still make your initial investment back. I've been at this since 2017, and having more BTC and ETH now is way better than just holding.
Sure, if you've been doing this since 2017 and saw that price surge, then yeah, it was worth it. But worth it varies for everyone. Some find it easier than others.
True, you really gotta know the game if you expect to buy 10k in mining gear and sell it for 20k in six months. Just for the record, back in July 2020, Bitmain L3+ miners were going for about $100 on eBay. Now? Over $1000. I think mining gear prices are super inflated right now. If you bought in early 2021, you did alright. But can you double your investment now? No clue.
I'm doing a poll for a friend about used mining hardware. Is investing in used gear worth it? He's writing an article for MediaPeanut and wants to include some opinions from here. Just trying to gather some insights.
Careful with trusting random people online. There are scams out there.
Honestly, right now isn’t the best time to buy mining rigs. Altcoins are dumping, which means it's a good time to invest in crypto instead. After that, you could use your profits to buy hardware.
Yeah, I agree, focusing on coins first is smarter.

If you’re thinking of mining hardware, I’m not sure that’s wise. Tech goes obsolete super fast, and newer, better stuff always comes out. Anything you buy can lose value quickly. So investing in hardware doesn’t really make sense. If you actually use it for mining, it’s a different story, but that’s more about mining than investing.
When you say investing in mining gear, do you mean just buying it and hoping to sell later? Or are you looking for a place to set it up and mine? If it's the first, I'd steer clear of Bitcoin hardware. But if you have a setup for mining, you might find it’s actually a good time, since mining returns can be better than many other sectors.
