Hey everyone I’ve got some spare mining cards and control boards lying around. Thinking about setting up a basic oil cooled system without circulation, mainly to cut down on noise. Can I just drop the mining boards into the oil along with the PSU (removing the fan) and the control board? Is there any software to help with this? I hear RUBs are pretty solid. Anyone tried this before?

Just a heads up, if you're using ASICs like S9s, you can only submerge the miner, not the PSU. There's a good chance the PSU won't work right if submerged. Also, cooling tanks without circulation aren’t ideal for long use unless you keep an eye on the temp and set your miner to auto idle or restart when it gets too hot. You don’t need fan simulators either. Switch to Braiins OS and enable immersion cooling.

Appreciate the response I’ve been searching for straightforward liquid cooling setups. Thought you could only disable one fan monitoring with BraiinsOS, but do both need to be disabled? Also, where's the auto restart feature? I set up a miner in a remote spot, but it stopped after 10 minutes. Only had two cards running at 800w, so I thought it would be fine, but it failed... I thought BraiinsOS had some auto tuning magic to keep it running, but maybe not. Might need to figure out remote access.

Why do you want auto restart? You might be able to do it with the BOSminer API or check for Dynamic Power Scaling if you're on BraiinsOS+. Have you tried lowering the power? You’re only running 2 Hashboards, right? The miner could’ve hit its temp limit. Auto-tuning usually stops or restarts because it’s calibrating. According to Braiins, that can take 2 to 6 hours to stabilize.

That sounds cool! So BraiinsOS+ uses BOSminer now instead of CGminer like the old versions. I had an S9 running on 2 cards with an APW3++ 1600w PSU set at 800w. It must have been auto tuning, I’m still getting used to this firmware... It’s currently showing 7.66TH on Slushpool. I bet it’s running at a low temp and could be pushed more, but I can’t adjust anything without going there. Left an old laptop with TeamViewer at the site, but it kept timing out. I’ve got 4 other miners there, and I keep losing TH because I can’t tweak settings.
