First Mining Pool for Bitcoin and Namecoin?

Hey everyone, I used to mine a lot back in the early Bitcoin days and there’s something bugging me. Anyone remember the first pool where you could mine both Bitcoin and Namecoin? I know it was possible for a time, but I can't recall which pool it was or how it worked. This was back when GPU mining was just kicking off. Any help would be appreciated!

I think it might be Multipool or maybe Slush. Can’t remember exactly but those names pop up in my head.

Yeah, Multipool sounds right. Not 100% sure though. Thanks for that! It’s been on my mind for ages. If anyone has more info on other pools that allowed merged mining back then, let’s hear it!

What about btccan.com? I remember it being mentioned around that time, but it’s dead now. When I tried to visit, it just shows some Chinese text. You might wanna check other pools listed here.

Ah, those were the days! You could mine without being too worried about noise. I remember BTCGuild from late 2011 and Eligius from mid-2011 too. Lots of pools came and went back then.

If I’m not mistaken, many pools let you do that. If you solved a BTC block, you could submit the same one to the other network since they ran on cloned chains with the same algorithm. Multipool definitely allowed that.

bitminter also allowed for BTC and NMC mining together. Just throwing that out there.
