Need tips for setting up mining electricity

Anyone here got experience with electricity for mining? Just getting into ASICs and need some solid advice for my electrician. Want to set everything up safely and efficiently for the long run. I'm really diving into Bitcoin mining now.

Here’s a quick breakdown of what I’m working with: 1x s19 = 3500 watts 2x 1146 = 7000 watts 3x L3+ = 1600 watts 2x s9 = 2600 watts Total is 14700 watts. That means I need about 80 amps. If I were you, I’d upgrade to a 150 amp panel and have a 100 amp subpanel in the garage. Definitely add some 30 amp circuits too. But be warned, it’s gonna get hot and noisy.

Thanks for the info! My fusebox does need an update. I might just keep it simple for now and manage my machines within that 50/60A limit. Keeping the total under 11000W sounds smart. Using tornado box fans now, they seem to work well enough. Also considering PDU's.

PDU's are a money pit. Just go for a 2-gang or 4-gang outlet box and plug your miners directly into that. Way simpler.

Are those L3's and S9's even worth it? Seems like you might be putting in a lot for not much return.

Not sure how anyone in the UK can keep their power costs low enough to make the L3 profitable. The depreciation is gonna hurt too.

You can max out 100a on 25mm2 cable, but running 24/7 might cause voltage drops. Best to use smaller breakers for safety. Also, check if your setup has 3 phases; could help with expansion.

You really should find an electrician who knows mining setups. In the UK, there are plenty of good ones. I tried DIY once, didn’t end well. Best to leave it to the pros.
