- Searching for Affordable Power OptionsFeb 23, 2026
Honestly, try finding a mining operation going under and take over. Sub 5 cents is tough to find now after the gas market took a dive. Good luck finding warehouses for rent to fit 1 MW. It's like searching for a unicorn.
- Energy Generation Ideas: Real or Just Crazy?Jan 9, 2026
The science behind this has been around for over 200 years. If generating cheap power was possible, someone would’ve done it by now. Building flywheels for just 1 megawatt would cost trillions. Better to invest in more…
- US Crypto Mining Stats Post China BanNov 23, 2025
Most US mining is centered around just a few states like WA, TX, NY. But that’s changing. New farms are popping up Midwest and Southeast where power is cheap. I moved to NC for better rates myself.
- Electricity Prices and Mining in the USAJul 15, 2023
Honestly, there aren’t any good ones. Best bet is to look at public utility tariffs, plug the numbers into a spreadsheet, and then just call the utility company to confirm everything.
- Electricity Prices and Mining in the USAJul 13, 2023
A lot of price comparison sites aren’t that reliable. ElectricityLocal.com is particularly bad. Commercial rates are totally different from residential ones. Miners are more concerned with energy costs than delivery…
- Electricity Prices and Mining in the USAJul 11, 2023
So, if you look into it, the commercial power price for around 1 MW load is usually between 5 and 10 cents in most U.S. cities. A few spots are cheaper or pricier though. Places like Washington and Texas are on the…
- Bitcoin Mining Opportunities in GeorgiaApr 9, 2023
I’d steer clear of immersion unless your operation is big or you're experienced. Machines don’t perform well when overclocked in hot conditions. It’s a bear market, so underclocking might be the way to go.
- Bitcoin Mining Opportunities in GeorgiaApr 5, 2023
Absolutely agree! ASIC vs GPU mining risks seem similar, but GPUs have historically better returns. Curious about profitability after ETH 2.0; I fear it might drop like in the 2019 bear market.
- Bitcoin Mining Opportunities in GeorgiaApr 4, 2023
Why not check out the other Georgia? You know, the state in the US? Power prices can go even lower if you use 1MW or more. There are some good examples of farms from that area.
- Mining Power Solutions: Using GeneratorsMar 24, 2023
Yeah, that’s gonna flop hard. If it worked, we’d see them everywhere.
- Mining Power Solutions: Using GeneratorsMar 18, 2023
Honestly, it's gonna produce even more heat than that. Most gas generators are only 25-30% efficient. So expect over 11 kW heat output. Lowering power on your machines seems like the easiest fix.
- Mining Power Solutions: Using GeneratorsMar 16, 2023
Why not just lower your equipment's power settings? You could save 20% power without losing much hashrate. Seems like a win-win.
- Mining Power Solutions: Using GeneratorsMar 16, 2023
Right? Even a natural gas generator is gonna cost you at least 11¢/kWh. Better off finding a small warehouse to rent. Look for one with at least 400A three-phase power. You’d get a better electric rate too. Just check…
I can’t wait to move to a place with cheaper power rates, man. The heat is a killer though; I can't run my gear in crazy hot days.
Bitmain tried the Antminer R4, but it flopped. Graphics cards are still the go-to for home miners. If you're gonna mine, you want the best you can get.
- Diving into ASIC Mining with Solar PowerAug 3, 2019
That sounds rough. I’d go for low-power ASICs like Goldshells or stick with more GPUs, given your power limits. If budget’s tight and grid power is cheap, maybe pick up some used Bitmain S9j’s? Run them for 8-14 hours…
- Diving into ASIC Mining with Solar PowerAug 3, 2019
Wait, why’d you get solar panels? lol, ASIC payback is usually quicker than solar setups. What’s your electricity cost like where you live? I think GPU mining will still stick around for a while, especially since ETH…
If you grab a Radeon RX 6800 on sale, it’ll run you about $700. With a good setup, you’re looking at $1.80 a day profit. But if PoS hits, that profit drops.
PoS is coming soon, maybe Q4. There’s still time to profit from mining before it hits. Remember the last time it was teased back in 2017? Much worse then.
If you’re starting out, GPU mining is the way to go. Cheaper to start up and electricity costs aren’t a big deal.
