Need help setting up my Antminer

Hey, I’m just starting out with an Antminer and I don’t know much about electricity. I’ve got a NEMA 5-20 outlet that should be 240 volts. What kind of adapter do I need to connect to my Antminer S9? Any tips on cables or anything else? Thanks a lot!

Check this page for power cord info: Choose the correct power cord for your miner. They have the specs for Bitmain PSUs too, that might help.

Just to clarify, NEMA 5 is 125VAC, not 240. For 240VAC, you need a NEMA 6 plug. They look kinda similar but the pin layout is different so you can't mix them up.

Is it possible to use two PSUs from different outlets (like 110V) for one Antminer S9? I thought that might help split the power load.

Yeah, but be careful... You can’t have both PSUs powering the same hash board. If you do, they’ll conflict and that could cause some major issues. Use one PSU for the controller and some boards and the second one for the others.

You should really get a solid PSU, maybe like a 300-volt one. Stick to just one Antminer on that PSU to maximize efficiency. There’s plenty of guidance online.

To connect to the NEMA 5-20 outlet, you need a PSU that works with the Antminer S9 and can adapt the 240 volts down to what your miner needs. Generally, it calls for a 1600W PSU, so look for one with a NEMA 5-20 plug or get a NEMA 5-20 to C13 power cord.

Guys, just a reminder: NEMA 5 plugs are for 120VAC, not 240. For higher voltage, get the NEMA 6 series. They aren’t interchangeable at all.
