So what do you guys think? Will Janet Yellen's nomination affect Bitcoin? She's been quite critical of it in the past.

Nah, I don’t think it’ll matter. Bitcoin is independent of the Fed and US politics.

Exactly, Bitcoin's grown beyond government control. No way Yellen can restrict it now.

Yup, but the authorities always poke around and bring in absurd regulations.

From what I know, the Treasury doesn’t mess much with crypto. The SEC is the real concern, especially with the "Crypto Mom" staying till 2025.

True! Companies and users are the ones pushing for regulations. Without public support, political moves are slow.

Yup, no matter who leads the Treasury, the crackdown on crypto continues. But Bitcoin will just keep going.

Right, like in Larry Harmon's case... it was about illegal activities, not just the mixer itself. That's different from SEC targeting crypto directly.

I’m not worried about Yellen’s appointment either. Bitcoin’s proven itself and is widely accepted now.

Haha I love these discussions... So Yellen’s anti-Bitcoin, but that doesn’t really mean much alone. Now, Hester Peirce at SEC? That’s good for crypto!

I look more at the administration as a whole rather than just one person. Biden’s team might push for tighter regulations which could affect Bitcoin.

Bitcoin won’t be shaken by Yellen. It’s decentralized and not controlled by banks. People will adopt or reject it, not her.

Sure, Yellen could influence things, but will she actually use her power against crypto? With Biden's team mainly women, seems like they want diversity more than anything.

Bitcoin doesn’t need permission from anyone. Whether they like it or not, it’s moving forward regardless of Yellen's stance.
