The title's kinda vague, huh? But basically, how much is too much to keep on an exchange? Recently I got back into trading, specifically short ones. It's common knowledge that holding a ton on CEX is risky, but I'm doing it right now and my portfolio has doubled. So what gives?

Honestly, how much to keep really depends on your net worth. Some see six figures as pocket change. Others think 10k is way too risky on one exchange. For me, 10k is big but if you're trading, you gotta have some liquidity.

Yeah if things go south, you'll be the one dealing with it. Can't let others' opinions sway yours. Everyone's risk tolerance is different, you know? It’s really about what you can handle.

This probably belongs in a trading chat section... I’d stash 80% in a DEX and keep a bit on the CEX for trading. It’s gotta be a slow process though. Too much excitement or stress can mess with your trading game.

Definitely not sitting on six figures here. And keeping 10 grand on a CEX? Not gonna happen. I’m constantly trading, around 350+ times, but with all that I just get more anxious. Multi-exchange trading sounds like a headache, tbh.

It’s all about personal limits. If a CEX goes down and you lose money that hits hard emotionally, you've got too much there. You might have valid reasons to keep funds on a CEX, but think about how much you'd be okay losing.

I keep a few hun on a CEX, mainly for altcoin hype. Anything over a grand? Not a chance. If the exchange isn't local, then good luck getting anything back if it crashes. I trust my cold wallet way more. Can’t put a price on peace of mind.

Interesting, crypto's banned here in Bangladesh, so CEXs don't have ties to my country. Still, they operate fine as of now. I keep about 800-900 for fun with alts, but yeah, echoing your points here.

We really should move this to a more relevant section. But back to your point, if you put in 200 and get to 300, take out like 150 and keep trading with what’s left. Secure those earnings! Let's not forget "not your keys, not your coins".

You could keep some funds if you feel confident about multiplying them, but definitely be wary of leaving too much on risky CEXs. Move your gains to a safe wallet post-trade; it’s just smart.

I trade whenever the opportunity comes, so moving funds around constantly? Too much hassle. I prefer to bulk transfer at once and not mess with it again for a while. Using a solid exchange, one with a recognizable logo, you know the one.

Kinda like the advice that you should trade only with what you can afford to lose. If you can’t handle a 500 hit on a 1k capital, maybe play with a smaller amount. For me, I try not to trade with over 30% of my total assets.

Totally your call on how to manage your cash. If it's primarily for trading, keeping it in CEX is okay, but definitely grab half of any profits for your wallet. It becomes a good DCA investment.

If you're an active trader, it makes sense to risk some funds on an exchange. But since you doubled your cash, I'd suggest pulling out half or at least 30% into your wallet. Better safe than sorry.

Sounds like everyone has their own strategies. Risk only what you can lose. Sometimes when the market swings unexpectedly, you'll need to handle that loss without falling apart. Stick with what you're comfy with.

Taking profits and moving them to safety is smart. Or stay on the platform to boost trading capital. More capital means less need for use when trading.

If you had mentioned how much you keep, that could help tailor advice better. But since you're using your balance primarily for trading, it seems you're in a decent spot. Just remember, exchange wallets are risky.

You said you've doubled your funds, which is awesome! But how much are you planning to use for each trade? You gotta be strategic about what to keep on the exchange.

DEXs are cool since your funds stay in your wallet, just connect and trade. Not sure what you mean by excitement over DEX though, I mean both platforms serve similar purposes.

If I were you, I'd pull all the profits and just keep the initial investment on the exchange. That way it helps you stay grounded and minimizes risk. Better to feel like you have less to lose.
