Heard that El Salvador is doubling down on crypto. They wanna build the biggest bitcoin mining farm using volcano energy. Sounds wild but if it works, great for cutting down electricity costs, right?

For sure, but how exactly are they planning to use volcano energy? Like, is there a whole tech thing behind it? I’m used to solar or coal but volcano energy is new territory for me.

Honestly, I’m not sold on using Instagram as a source. Some peeps mentioned this news is old anyway. Seems like a mix-up with this Volcano Energy thing. But if they are using geothermal, we’ve seen this before.

Yeah, I think it’s basically geothermal power. You heat water from underground and use steam to drive turbines. No new science here, just rebranded!

But why would a volcano give off heat when it’s not erupting? I mean, isn't there a risk of eruption that could mess with everything? What if all the equipment gets wrecked?

Nah, volcanoes are warm underground even without eruptions. It’s about tapping into that heat from magma. Iceland does it, no big deal.

You mean geothermal? Okay, I guess that makes sense. It sounds cool but risky too, and a bit pricey initially.

Dude, it could be dangerous! They’ll need top engineers for sure. If Bukele flops, the haters are gonna have a field day.

Not a huge challenge if they do it right. Plus, other countries might follow suit if this turns out to be a hit.

Clickbait headline, but hey, that’s how the crypto world rolls. It’s not groundbreaking; El Salvador already has geothermal plants from way back.

Exactly. Other countries have been using this tech for ages. Bukele is just trying to grab headlines.

True, geothermal energy is used in loads of places. But will it really affect bitcoin mining costs that much?

Right? I mean, what’s the cost going to be after the next halving? If they can keep it cheap, that’s great!

But what if they promote it at lower prices first, then hike them up after? Classic marketing move.

Big miners already have deals for cheap electricity. I thought hydro was king for low costs, but it seems renewables are often cheaper now.

Hydro is consistent, though. Solar and wind aren’t always reliable.

Aren’t you confusing ‘dustbin energy’ with something else? That’s literally energy from garbage. Volcano energy is another ball game.

Right, ‘dustbin energy’ comes from burning trash. Volcano energy is geothermal way different.

For a geothermal plant to work, you need really hot water. Gonna take serious drilling, and they’ll need to consider location.

Plus, those pumps can eat up a lot of power. It’s not a straightforward process.
