- Coinbase and the Tax Reporting MessOct 2, 2025
I opened a Coinbase account but never really used it. Do they only send those tax forms if you hit a certain transaction threshold?
- Looking for MSB License AdviceSep 4, 2024
Can someone tell me what this all means? Is it mainly for people selling/buying BTC without using exchanges?
Is there a way to find historical prices for coins back to when they were created? CMC and CoinGecko are popular, but some coins seem to lack data.
Just signed up at CryptoDataDownload. Went to Binance and tried to check a coin’s price, but I only see the high/low/close stuff. Where’s the detailed chart?
Anyone with an account able to share a screenshot? I want to see Dash's price on January 3, 2022, at 8 AM and 5 PM West Coast time. Can you even see prices at random moments like 8:27 AM?
So I tried to download a CSV for Waves, and it shows high, low, close, but is that really what I need? Do I have to create an account just to see hourly prices?
But Gemini and Bitfinex only show prices for the coins they support, right? I mean, if Binance had a coin listed since 2019, could I find the exact price at 8 AM or 5 PM on January 3, 2019? Like hourly details, I mean.
Can we actually find the exact price of a coin like Dash or Maker from back in the day? I mean, let’s say January 3, 2022 at 8 AM West Coast time. How do you even do that? CoinMarketCap lets you scroll back, but no…
What tax software are you using? I’m curious if there’s any good recommendations for tracking using LIFO instead. Does the software clearly tell you what to keep track of?
- Is Altcoin Trading Still a Thing?Dec 27, 2021
I remember back in the day, people went crazy over altcoins. Are there still peeps trading those meme coins? Feels like I've seen none lately. What about these new coin launches? Do they even happen anymore?
- Is Altcoin Trading Still a Thing?Dec 26, 2021
I've never traded before so idk much about it. I heard a lot about altcoins in the past and they were super popular on places like PancakeSwap and Binance. Is that still happening or what?
Nobody really uses Uniswap or Pancakeswap for memes these days. They’re onto Meteora or Pumpfun instead. CEXs avoid meme listings because the risk isn’t worth it.
If you want those coins that can 5x or 10x, Uniswap and Pancakeswap are the go-tos, right? I think Bittrex used to be another option.
So these DEXs don’t require KYC? Do they have any restrictions based on your location?
I’m signed up on Coinbase and Gemini. Anyone know what exchanges are best for trading high volatility and meme coins? Seems like Binance is key, right? But they don’t list those meme coins that can pump like 5x or 10x.…
I’m in the US, but not currently there. How do altcoin purchases work if you don’t go USD to alt directly?
Seriously, why is this confusing? If you wanna buy an altcoin, you typically start with BTC. Like, if you wanna grab Lisk, sending USD to an exchange isn’t always an option.
When you buy altcoins like Iota or Lisk, you usually need BTC instead of USD or USDT. Just seems how it is…
- Are Altcoins Over?May 21, 2021
Totally agree. It's like nobody's really into altcoins anymore. I’m mostly seeing talk about legit ones on Coinbase, not so much the meme coins from DEXs like PancakeSwap.

Not too long ago, it felt like altcoins were everywhere. People were trading them on Binance and PancakeSwap and having a blast. Wondering if that's still the case or what.
