So, are we really gonna see all exchanges become decentralized one day? I mean, it sounds cool and all... but is it realistic?
Will All Crypto Exchanges Really Go Decentralized?

I seriously doubt it. Governments are gonna crack down on decentralized platforms to keep control over crypto. They’ll push heavy regulations that could force exchanges to expose user data.
Been thinking the same. Custodians are a huge risk. They always end up being vulnerable to hacks or scams. Honestly, protocols just feel way safer in the long run.

Yeah, but decentralized exchanges that fit the "money transmitter" label face extra scrutiny. Some so-called DEXs are just masquerading as decentralized while having centralized features.
Take HTX, for example. Popped up in the news after getting hacked multiple times. Everyone assumes “DEX” means secure, but reality is many of them are still quite centralized.
If there are DEXs that don't allow quick withdrawals or have a way to shut down if things go south, that could help. But still... your risk depends on if you’re just a user or providing liquidity.

Can’t access the link you shared. 404 error. Lol. But honestly, if Justin thinks it's all gonna be decentralized, I question his grip on reality. CEXs are still popular, and regulations are clamping down on crypto.

Agreed. The push for decentralization feels naive with the current trend of losing privacy in crypto. The Bitcoin ETF is just adding to that control.
Right? I’m okay with decentralized services, but a lot of companies just use the label to mask their centralized practices. They either don’t verify identities or give too much access.
When you use DEXs like Uniswap or PancakeSwap, you’re dealing with smart contracts. You grant permission for specific trades, which is better, but the risk is still there if a hack happens.
Yep, and remember that some ether DEX was shut down. The government won’t just sit back and let everything be decentralized. They’ve tried to eliminate mixers, so I doubt they’ll give up on control.
Exactly. Justin has his own platform that’s not decentralized maybe he should start there if he really believes in decentralization. Let’s see him lead by example.

All POS systems have centralization issues. Even with loads of validators, ecosystems like Ethereum don’t really become more decentralized. It's all just an illusion.

This was obvious from the get-go. The US sees itself as the world police and won't accept anything decentralized that they can't control. But how will they enforce rules on exchanges if they don’t track users?
