I honestly think that would’ve been ideal. No KYC nonsense. But can we really control how others use their Bitcoin? That's the question.
I wonder why CZ switched to DEX instead of staying with Binance. Anyone got thoughts on that?

CZ didn’t actually abandon Binance. He had to leave because of legal issues in the U.S., but Binance is still running strong.
I think centralized exchanges are more about convenience than privacy. If you want to protect your data, it's all about DEXs or P2P.
Yeah, but to blame them entirely for KYC is unfair. They gotta comply with regulations or face shutdown. It's a tough spot.

Nobody's saying it's all their fault. The government pressures them into strict measures. We really need to prioritize privacy.
Right? DEX is definitely the future. But we all know governments want to crack down and control. It's not gonna be easy for developers.
Without CEXs, Bitcoin might’ve been branded as criminal from the get-go. We wouldn’t be where we are today.

But don't forget, Bounty managers still get Bitcoin from exchanges. Some people need those services to even get started.

Totally agree. There are folks who can't even handle cold storage. They need those CEXs to avoid losing their funds.
Yeah, centralized exchanges are user-friendly. But if they keep pushing KYC, people will start to look for alternatives.
If there were only DEXs from the start, things would look different. Traders might find it tough, though.

I’ve used CEXs, but with minimal info. Just my email and an authenticator, keep it light.

I think CZ had to leave to stay out of jail. Legal trouble was serious for him.
He wasn’t really free to choose. Government’s grip on crypto makes it hard for CEXs.
Been P2P for over three years, no problems. Prefer that over CEXs any day.
I’ve bought from individuals too. Got a solid network for trades. Works well for privacy.
Yeah, centralized exchanges sped up Bitcoin's rise, but they also made people lazy about self-custody.
