I found this old file on my hard drive from 2017 called "mystery wallet" with no extension. Back then, I was messing around with cryptocurrencies and mining, but I can't remember what this is. Should I just delete it or could it have something? I opened it after adding a.txt extension and it's just a long string of characters starting with QklFMQJD5E. Any ideas what it might be?
What kind of wallet file did I find?

Sounds like it could be an encrypted Electrum wallet. Electrum usually doesn’t have extensions for its wallet files. The string you mentioned gives me a vibe that it’s Electrum-related. Try loading it in Electrum, but make sure you grab it from the official site and check the PGP signatures. If it prompts you for a password, you might be onto something... good luck remembering your old passwords.
Wow, you called it! It was an Electrum wallet. After trying a few passwords, I got in, but sadly the balance was zero BTC lol. Thanks for the help! Quick question, though. I have some old ripple wallets too, probably with $0 as well, but there's this string starting with eyJpdiI6IktqTVJKOG. How do I restore those?
Man, I can't really help with Ripple wallets. I only dabbled in XMR. But hey, at least you got your Bitcoin wallet sorted, right? Ripple was a bad investment back in the day for me too. Just use Trezor or something, if you have it.
File names might be more telling than those first few characters. A lot of wallets are specific to their names or backup formats. If it's an Electrum fork for XRP or other coins, be careful, since a lot of those are scams. Definitely, ask around in the alts section or other Ripple forums where experts might hang out.
