I'm remodeling my bathroom and have four water-cooled S5s and a C1. Trying to figure out if I can use the heat from these miners to warm the floor. Thinking of using the C1 as a constant heat source with its 360 rad. If I have 5 m2 of heated floor, it could work well for both my miners and a comfy bathroom.

Sounds like a solid plan. It’s a shame people waste miner heat instead of repurposing it. I’ve got a conservatory with underfloor heating that’s never been connected, so I'm intrigued by this too. One question though: are you going to pump the miner fluid directly into the heating pipes or use a heat exchanger? I’d go with a heat exchanger.

Definitely better than a regular radiator! I just hope the floor absorbs more heat. Just remember, if the floor gets over 25C, dust will start floating around. Plus, high temps can stress the materials.
Honestly, this started as a random idea when I saw my unused C1 in the bathroom. I could use some expert advice on whether this is even feasible. Just finished a cool radiator cabinet and am building a bong tower for extra cooling.

Yeah but wouldn’t you worry about miner temps? I mean, are they still gonna run hot?
That area is massive for cooling fans on the radiator, man. Props for sharing this. How many miners do you plan to connect to this setup? And what coolant are you gonna use?

I’m all for using the heat, but let’s be real... 3200 watts just for a bathroom? Might be profitable now, but what about in a couple years? I have my doubts about the long-term cost.
The radiators are meant for my 4 S5s and C1, and I’m planning to add more S5s since winter’s coming. I might end up with too much cooling, and I’ll have to overclock my miners.
I’ve got my S5s overclocked to about 50-60, but the C1 can only handle 30 before it starts acting up.
Let’s not talk ROI here. It’s not relevant for this project. Plus, it should connect to bathroom radiators.

Don’t crank it up too high! Over 30C at floor level could stir up dust, and it might damage materials.
What kind of coolant you using? Like, is it for electrical equipment or something different? Seems like you’d need a lot.
Currently using coolant, but once my bong cooling tower is done, I might switch to water for evaporation... If the floor gets too hot, I want a system to redirect fluid to the radiators or bong cooling.
Planning to hit the hardware store tomorrow for some expert advice on heating options. Key is keeping my miners cool while using waste heat for the bathroom floor. I want to find cheap S5s for this project.
Cool concept! I mean, who knows what innovations could come from heated bathroom floors? I’m getting into solar too, and it's interesting how people use energy in creative ways. Heated floors could be a big win for miners.

400 watts for 5 m2 is what I could use permanently. If the water gets too hot, it’ll restrict flow to protect the tiles. The cost was relatively low at about 400 euros but only works with a downvolted C1 or S5.

I’m all for not wasting energy too. I’ve seen setups drying fruit with GPU miners before. But if it leaks, you think the HOA would care?
I’m not doing this project myself, sorry. I just think we need better ways to use all that heat.
