I found a way to combine 2 Antminer S9s for better productivity and less power use. Just use one control board and power supply. It can even run in silent mode for the office. You'll need to solder some resistors and connectors though. Total power around 1500W for 20TH.

Anyone figured out why autotune doesn't work for frequencies above 587? It just keeps saying "not starting, wait 30 sec". Also, is there any development fee on this firmware version? Can I check out the source code somewhere?
Wait, are those resistors 201 or 402? Also, why change the firmware in the first place?
You could just use BraiinsOS to throttle the speed. But what's the real benefit compared to running a few 10TH S9s? Does using an extra Xilinx arm controller really make a difference? I’m curious about that.
Yeah, power setup is simpler now. Just one power cord, one cat cable, and two fans. Plus, way less noise. That's.082 JS.
So you actually made it consume more power? Those usually do 80W with LPM, right? 82W/th seems off.
Loved your DIY video! Just wondering how stable is it? Soldering by hand makes me nervous since Antminers are so touchy. How many setups have you done like this, and how do they hold up?

I did try that. This firmware tracks watts per hashboard closely matching actual consumption. Any way to get that function on BraiinsOS?
BraiinsOS doesn’t have that watt tracking yet. Maybe if enough people ask, they’ll add it in the future? Or you could always code it yourself since it's open-source.
We've done a bunch of these boards. Running them in light mode really extends the life of the ASICs.
+1 on that. The control board should handle extra boards fine. But electrical load could be an issue. The stray capacitance might cause hidden problems. Be sure to clean the solder spots, flux can mess with your hashrate.
Just two PCI-X connectors, right?
