Yeah, no kidding. 2021 feels like the year they’re gonna clamp down hard. The USA is planning to roll out self-hosted wallet rules and the FATF travel rule with some crazy reporting limits. Time for KYC even on small transactions. The EU is definitely gearing up too.

It’s wild how they blame crypto instead of addressing the crimes themselves. Even if they regulate Bitcoin or try to ban it, money laundering won’t just disappear. Criminals will just adapt to using something else, like Monero, which is way more private. I mean, isn’t Lagarde aware of this stuff?
Totally get what you’re saying. Lagarde has her moments. Bitcoin can’t really be regulated like that. But if the ECB is pushing for stricter rules, it’s only gonna mean more regulations for exchanges and crypto services everywhere. Buckle up, everyone. But let’s remember Bitcoin is not about illicit activities. It’s serious.
Right? It’s got potential, but there’s a long way to go before it’s seen as a legit business tool. I remember the crazy debates back during the Segwit/2x drama. It feels like we’re stuck in this never-ending cycle of governance issues and scaling problems.
