Recovering Multibit HD Wallet with Encrypted Files

So I got this Multibit HD wallet with over.5 BTC that needs help recovering. It's a total mess. The guy had his seed words all lined up until recently. Now he knows the password but can't open up the wallet... just great.

Have you tried exporting it with mbexport or using that forked version? I also found something called decrypt_bitcoinj_seed-master. Might be worth a look. Just throwing ideas out there.

Decoded the file but what now? Is it just a piece of the puzzle for unlocking the backup files or what?

Try mixing up the password variations. Heard the UTF-16 bug might be messing things up. Try stripping trailing spaces, uppercase/lowercase combos, and changing special characters to ASCII. You can also brute force it by extracting base64 from "encryptedPassword". If you can crack that, you're golden.

Anyone know what those two values in the YAML file actually do? I mean I'm seriously considering digging into the Multibit HD code myself. But if someone already knows, that would save me a ton of time.

Wait a minute, did you just say you recovered the wallet? But first you post a link for guidance and then drop that bomb? Plus, the OP hasn't logged in since January.
