Bitcoin mining is when you use your computer's power to solve tough math problems to verify transactions in the Bitcoin network. Miners get rewarded with new bitcoins and transaction fees. The cool part is that the difficulty of these math problems changes automatically, so it takes about 10 minutes to mine a block. If more miners join in, it gets harder. This makes the Bitcoin network secure.

Tons of info out there, but seriously, YouTube is where it’s at for learning about crypto. Just search "what is bitcoin mining" and you'll find videos ranging from beginner to advanced. Much easier to grasp than reading a bunch of text, tbh.

Honestly, Bitcoin mining isn't for total newbies. The next halving is around the corner and a lot of ASICs will be practically useless. New folks might wanna start with GPUs or ASICs for other coins that use way less power and are quieter. You can actually set them up in your apartment.
