I saw my miner submit way more shares than expected in a minute. Like over 8000! How is that possible?

That sounds off. You should double-check those numbers. It’s not feasible to submit that many shares without insane bandwidth.

Exactly. It’s a formula: Estimated Hashrate = Shares × Share Difficulty × 2^32 / Time. Pretty straightforward.
