Help with old wallet.dat files

Got a bunch of old wallet.dat files lying around and they probably empty... trying to check their balances without syncing the whole blockchain every time. I’ve used dumpwallet command to get extended private masterkey and imported it into Electrum, worked fine for one non-encrypted wallet. But I have two encrypted wallets too. I know the passwords and used walletpassphrase "PASSWORD" 60 to open up them for a minute, then ran dumpwallet. I got the dump, but... now what?

How old are these wallets? Sounds like they might be legacy ones. Legacy wallets are just random key pairs, no descriptor-based derivation, which means there’s no master private key involved.

Yeah, I think I made them around 2013... so basically no easy way to import into Electrum? Sounds like I have to sync the whole blockchain? Ugh.

You could create a new wallet, pick "Import Bitcoin addresses or private keys" and then import those addresses. Just a heads-up though, if you ever mined or got coins "to pubkey", those won't show up this way!

Be careful with personal messages from people who say they can help, most of the time it’s just a scam. And by the way, HD wallet support started back in 2016 according to the official site. Also, if there are a ton of transactions with those addresses, Electrum may be slow and laggy.
