A lot of traders just look at a coin’s performance against /USDT. But honestly, that doesn’t give you the full picture. Analyzing against /BTC can really deepen your understanding. Let me break it down with an example. I traded this coin based on an ascending triangle pattern. It hit my target and I took a 10% profit, selling at the resistance level. Then, of course, the price pulled back.

If Bitcoin crashes, it’s crazy how many coins get liquidated. We’re talking billions in USD. Plus, during downtrends, long positions get wrecked because of high use. Those trading spot usually just want BTC to go up against USD.

Why analyze a pair that’s not common among traders? It’s way simpler to track fiat or stable coins. When you look at BTC, you’re juggling two currency movements, which makes analysis tricky.

I actually find it easier to analyze against BTC. Like in my last trade, the market dropped but my coin shot up, hitting my targets. Analyzing against both BTC and USDT gives a clearer picture of the coin's performance.

Never thought to look at assets against BTC until this convo. I guess I just thought it seemed complicated. I prefer stablecoins for their simplicity. During bullish trends, it’s just about timing your entry.

You should definitely give BTC analysis a try. Who knows, it might give you the edge you’re missing. I avoid futures since my faith doesn’t allow it. Margin trading is a no-go for me.

I’ve been eyeing XRP and wanted to buy when it hit $2, but I got distracted and missed the dip. I had bullish pennant patterns drawn out too. I never analyzed against BTC before but I see that’s a mistake. Gonna change that.

Totally agree, analyzing against /BTC is key. In a bull market, most altcoins will rise against USD. Knowing if you’re gaining or losing BTC is key.

Really? You think that? I’m open to trying new methods if they seem promising. What’s the deal with your religion though? Is it about interest rates? I’ve heard mixed opinions on that.

Islam promotes fairness and ethics in all trades. Futures and margin trading are risky and can lead to speculation that’s deemed unethical. It’s all about avoiding harm and ensuring justice.

I always check my altcoin portfolio in BTC. That’s how we did it back in the day. If you look at a coin’s value in BTC, you might realize it’s better to just hold BTC instead of gambling on altcoins.

It’s all about what you want. If you’re aiming for more BTC, then analyze against BTC. If you want more USD, focus on USDT. Both methods can yield profit.

I mostly trade against USDT, probably because that’s my go-to for Bitcoin/USDT pairs. So when I analyze altcoins like Solana, I do it against SOL/USDT. It’s worked well for me so far. But I always check BTC’s price first.

I’m with you on that. Every point you make is spot on. A trader should aim to grow their portfolio in both USD and BTC. If you’re only gaining in USD but losing in BTC, what’s the point?

Seriously? Both are super popular. But yeah, I get it. Stablecoins are easier to analyze than BTC, which is way more volatile. BTC is just one coin, but it impacts the whole market.

Depends on your goals, really. If you’re a BTC maximalist, you’ll analyze everything against BTC to maximize your stash. Most traders stick to USD because it’s the world's main currency, even if it’s losing value.

You don’t need to analyze both pairs, just focus on what you’re trading and what you’re aiming for. Sometimes I trade against Bitcoin because I see it dipping. Even when the market drops, some altcoins can shine against BTC.
