I’m totally lost on this topic. Not into mining myself, just buy coins, but curious about cloud vs hosted mining.

Cloud mining is usually a scam or you take on all the risk for tiny returns, while hosted mining is you running your own rig, but it still can be sketchy.

Yeah, basically, cloud mining companies often turn out to be scams or just shady. The legit ones just make you pay for their expenses while you get a cut of their profits.

Nice summary, but you kinda glossed over some key issues. OP, don’t fall for marketing fluff. There are tons of scams out there, even from ‘honest’ companies.

Why not just buy a miner and keep it at home? That way, you own it. Both options have risks, but cloud mining seems worse. Finding legit hosted mining is tough.

Good point. Just be careful, though. There are people who’ll try to exploit your curiosity and might not have your best interests at heart. Always do your own research.

I don’t have cheap electricity or time to manage a miner, so I’m looking into these options. My brother does hosted mining and supposedly makes decent profits.

You should definitely ask him about it. Could be awkward, but it's your money on the line. Just stay cautious because scams can seem legit at first.

But you didn’t say what coins you’re into. Some might not even relate to mining. Don’t rush into cloud mining; it’s usually not what it seems.

You can invest like $50 in cloud mining, but hosted mining often requires a minimum investment, like 10 ASICs or something. Both have serious risks though.

Why take that risk for such a slim profit margin? I mean, $50 won't really get you much return. Not worth the hassle, imo.

Cloud mining often lets you buy a fraction of a hashrate, which can lure in nervous investors. I tried a service like that and got burned.

Inviting someone to invest without any context? That’s not cool. OP wants to understand the differences, not just throw money around.

How long have you been mining? And how much did you invest? I’ve seen too many services go belly up after a few months.

Their site looks new and those three people posting are probably just shills for a scam.

Yeah, if you check that account's history, it’s clearly just marketing for that platform. Sounds like a scam waiting to happen.

I want to know how long you’ve been doing this cloud mining and how much you made. There are calculators on those sites, but you gotta be careful.

Cloud mining is basically a scam where they pretend you buy mining power but it’s usually just a front. Hosted mining could be legit if you have local miners.

Where did I mention investing in my post? I’m saying mine only on your own gear. You won’t really grasp the tech if you’re just staring at a screen.
