Canaan Launches New Avalon A10 Series

Hey everyone, big news here. Canaan just dropped their new Avalon A10 series, and they seem to be upping the efficiency game.

That's really cool! I was waiting for this. The specs aren’t groundbreaking, but at least they're back in the race.

I wish they’d skip the integrated power supply. I only trust server PSUs with that kind of power don't wanna deal with fire hazards.

True, lots of good external PSUs will be useless now. But hey, they kept the 5-pin comm ports for Rasp Pi control, so that’s something.

They’ve got this new cooling design with two fans and shorter boards. Hoping for better performance than before, especially compared to A851.

Yeah, but would love to see them back to real specs. A921 was kinda sad on that front.

Agreed, but the integrated PSUs are key for the efficiency improvements we're seeing. It’s a trend now.

I got one A921 too. Tested a couple A851s. They were not good at efficiency at all. Really hoping for better this time.

Been thinking since SP3x days long tubes don’t cool well. More companies are catching on.

I really like Canaan products but man, this feels underwhelming. Bitmain is crushing it with their efficiency.

Specs look pretty decent compared to S15 and better than M10. Timing of release is solid.

Wait a sec, M20 isn't hitting 30 watts/th. I doubt it. We need to check real tests before seeing any value.

Yeah, knowing watts per th is key. I reached out to Steve for a demo, gonna compare A1021, S17 and M20.

Oof, 1550 bucks each? That’s too high. They need to adjust that price.

Not sure about the new Avalons. But many miners require 20v internal rails; 12v just won't work right.

Same, I’ve got a mix of PSUs, and none of them have exploded yet.
