Can’t believe someone lost 200k in just 10 minutes. They made their wallet on Telegram? Yikes! Some folks will lie just to avoid the blame. But seriously, this is a huge wake-up call.

Yeah, cold wallets are definitely safer. But I’ve seen people lose money there too. Novices get scammed with fake wallets and phishing. Just having a hardware wallet doesn’t make you immune. Everyone needs to be on high alert.

If wallets aren’t from open-source platforms, you’re asking for trouble. Buying a hardware wallet from a sketchy seller is a bad move. Best bet is to read up and know what you’re getting into.

Getting a hardware wallet was the best move I made after jumping into Bitcoin. Most don’t realize its value until they face a crisis. Think back to Celsius and FTX. It was chaos, and you needed that hardware wallet.

Some newbies grab wallets off marketplaces thinking they’re saving money. They have no clue they’re risking their funds by avoiding official sites. It’s crazy how much some people lose just because of a cheap purchase.

Nothing online is 100% secure. Tech keeps moving, and scammers are getting smarter. A cold wallet is better, but if you don’t store it right, you’re just asking to lose your assets.

Agreed. But honestly, the best foundation is knowledge. Understanding what you're doing will help you deal with risks. If that victim had known about airgapped wallets, they could’ve avoided losing it all.

I’d never keep 200k in one wallet. Splitting it across multiple wallets is safer. One hack and poof, it’s all gone.

It blows my mind how people have so much invested and still think a hardware wallet is too expensive. It's a small price for peace of mind. Sad to see the same mistakes over and over.

Exactly. Securing a hardware wallet keeps your keys offline. That’s a must. But losing your seed phrase or sharing it with scammers? That’s a whole other risk.

True, but with a hardware wallet, you minimize the risk of instant loss. They’re the safest for storing large amounts, but that doesn’t mean you can slack on security hygiene.

Even if you have multiple wallets on the same device, you're still risking it all. Hot devices are always online. Negligence could still lead to losses.

Best mindset is to be informed. You can get crypto anywhere, but once you have it, you gotta do your homework on how to secure it. Don't just dive in blindly.

Newbies often don’t realize they’re doing it wrong until they’ve been scammed. I remember using Trust Wallet and ditching it after a friend lost everything. Glad I found this place for good info.

Not everyone knew Bitcoin before coming here. Many invested on their own. This forum isn’t the only place for crypto knowledge. Google has info on hardware wallets too.

A cold wallet is really the safest choice, yet even the best can’t prevent losses. It’s all about the user knowing how to set things up and keep keys secure.

We’re in a time where info is easy to access. Researching asset safety isn’t a waste at all. Open-source wallets are safer, and for large amounts, a good hardware wallet is essential.

Right, security should come before profit. It’s like building a house without solid locks. Ignore security, and you’ll regret it when hackers strike. A hardware wallet is an investment in safety.

Got it. 1) Get a solid hardware wallet. 2) Learn to use it right. Simple as that. Take the time to check everything before investing. Crypto isn’t going anywhere.

For sure. A cheap hardware wallet could’ve saved that guy. Some influencers act like they know everything but forget the basics. That money is gone for good.
