Stumbled upon a tweet from ZachXBT, pretty well-known in the space. He got his hands on a list showing that 200+ crypto projects paid influencers to shill their coins. A lot of them turned out to be scams. Crazy right? The list included over 160 influencers, detailing how much they got paid and even their wallet addresses. Hard to deny when it’s all laid out like that.
I noticed one guy there. Not super familiar with him but I have seen cryptobaldwin around here. Only had like 12k followers but got 750 bucks for just two tweets? That’s wild. Seems like a lot for a couple of posts. Gotta wonder if these influencers have multiple accounts to rake it in.
Totally not shocked. Shilling is just how these influencers cash in while leading their followers to disaster. Had a chat with a buddy promoting a project. He told me straight up he doesn’t care if it’s a scam as long as he gets his cash. It’s a rough reality for anyone who takes their word seriously.
For sure, it’s not just rookies falling for this. Even experienced people can get caught up if they don’t double-check what’s out there. Glad the folks I follow aren’t on that list, but who knows what’s next. AFAIK, in some spots, you gotta mention if a post is sponsored.
Nobody is surprised. If you trust an influencer’s words blindly, you’re just asking to get scammed. Some people would sell anything for a quick buck. They could be oblivious, but come on, if you’re promoting something, do your homework first.
Nothing shocks me anymore. This is why everyone says DYOR, right? I watch plenty of influencer videos but I never take their word as gospel. I pick coins based on what I’ve learned, not just following along like sheep. Newbies really need to wake up.

Online influencers are out here promoting fake cryptos and other scams. Seriously don’t take their word for anything. They are in it for themselves. Remember when that popular musician promoted a coin? Many people lost a lot.
