Best Setup for My Mining Rigs

Hey everyone I'm about to fire up my first mining rig with a whatsminer and antminer. Any tips on where to set them up? I heard that mining directly on a table isn't great due to vibrations. What do you think?

You might want to move this to the mining section for better advice but I’d say a mining rig frame is your best bet. Most of them are built for multiple rigs though. Planning on expanding later? Then definitely get a frame or try a DIY option.

For keeping your ASICs running well, make sure you have: good air circulation, controlled humidity, and reliable power supply. Also... keep the room temperature regulated. Looks like you're on the right track!

If you're using m30 or m50 whatsminers, they need around 230 volts. Antminers like the s19 prefer clean, dry air. Aim for 15-25 degrees for intake and keep the hot side below 40 degrees. Hot-cold aisle separation matters as your setup grows.

If you wanna reduce noise from two ASICs, consider a noise enclosure. Vibration from fans isn’t too bad, so you can even put them on regular shelves. Just avoid damp areas or places prone to theft.

It’s not great to put your miners directly on the floor if they don’t have a stand. Better to have them on a platform that’s easy to build. Make sure it’s in a safe spot too, like away from spills.

Thanks everyone for the insights! I launched the rig and after 5 hours here are my stats: inlet temps are 54-55 and outlet is about 69-70. Fans running at 5700 RPM. Noise isn’t an issue in my 500 sq meter space, plus I’ve got solid ventilation and dust filters!

Honestly, with just 2 ASICs, you probably won’t have major issues even without filters. Just avoid moisture and heavy dust. If you expand, think about proper ventilation.

You can’t just drop the miners anywhere. Make sure they’re stable and not top-heavy if you want quieter operation. Using springs to suspend them could help with noise and vibration.

You’ve used springs? I mean, these ASIC fans don’t really vibrate much. Don’t scare the OP with that. Miners work fine in garages without fancy setups.

A clean, dust-free, well-ventilated area is key. Besides that, set them up wherever you can. I’ve got a dedicated mining room with good airflow and windows. Hot weather? I keep my door open.
