AvalonMiner 821 Review and Setup Discussion

Got my hands on the AvalonMiner 821, excited to share my experience.

What’s the general setup like? Any special gear needed?

Yeah, you need some basic stuff for unpacking and connecting it all up.

I’d love to see how it performs after setup.

The control unit setup is pretty straightforward, just plug and play.

How about the physical setup? Any challenges?

Not really, just make sure you have good ventilation.

Cool, what about the configuration? Was it easy?

Took a little tweaking, but got it running smoothly.

I’m curious about the power consumption... how’s it looking?

Measured it at around 1200W, pretty much as expected.

Yup, that’s how Canaan programmed it, bit annoying tbh.

I wonder if they’ll fix that in future updates.

Hopefully! I can’t stand the noise level.

Anyone tried adjusting the voltage offset? Curious about results.

Yeah, I tested it with +1 and got decent hashrate.

What’s the max offset this miner can handle? Is it the same as 721?

I think it allows +1, 0, -1, -2 like previous models.

That’s interesting. I heard some people are getting better efficiency at lower offsets.
