I set a limit sell for litecoin at 100 bucks and it split into two orders. Seriously, I'm not some whale making huge moves here... what’s up with that?
Sounds like your order just couldn’t get filled all at once. I’m not sure about Coinbase specifically, but some places have this ‘all or none’ feature that makes sure your order is filled completely or not at all.
You've asked this a few times already. You said your order filled fully, so chill with the spam. To answer you, even though it was one order, it needed two buyers to fill it... simple logic. Not a whale situation really, just some smaller buyers grabbing less than 100 bucks each.
It's all about how buy and sell orders match up. Your $100 sell order needed multiple buy orders to complete it. It’s not unique to Coinbase, happens on other exchanges too. Transparency isn’t the issue here, and whales aren't involved. You could see this with $50 litecoins as well, just depends on orders.
Things have changed a lot now. Coinbase revamped their setups, so you gotta read the fine print to get what’s happening. I don’t trade on Coinbase, I’m all about Binance since it’s one of the top exchanges out there. You mentioned your limit sell splitting, do you get what kind of order you triggered?
Joining a signature campaign was probably your worst move. Your manager must have been super forgiving, but dude, those neutral tags are showing. Why keep bringing up the same old stuff?
That’s how exchanges operate by default, man. Even Binance splits orders like this. If you don’t want it to break up, just go for the all or none option. Some traders can be so clueless, seems like everyone’s snowflaking out here.
From what I understand, when you place a limit order and it doesn’t fully execute, it partitions your amount. One part gets filled while the rest waits if someone else buys quickly. This is just how strategic trading with limit orders works. Otherwise, just go with the market option where you buy/sell at current prices.
