Been seeing a lot about USB mining lately. They’re making a big deal about the current block rewards being 3 BTC. So if I get one just to gamble on a lottery vibe, is it even worth it compared to regular lotteries and their odds?
USB Mining for Lottery Chances: Worth It?

Total joke. These USB miners only do like 75 MH/s.
You gotta think about hashrate if you're considering that USB miner. Higher hashrate is always better. But honestly, even with a decent hashrate, you might never get to solve a block. If electricity's pricey, just stay away from solo mining. You could waste your time and still not get anything.
It's based on hashrate and expected difficulty. But that USB miner with just 75 MH/s? Nah, better stick to the traditional lottery. Even those crazy odds of Powerball are better than what you’ll get with that.
I’d only even think about solo mining if I had at least 100 THash. Anything less than 1 THash is pointless right now. An old ASIC with like 10-14 THash might work, but the electricity costs will kill you. Mining's no cheap lottery, that’s for sure.
It’s a bit tricky, my miner does 850 GH and it’s underclocked. Yeah, every block gives me a chance, but it’s a long shot with average luck.
If 1 TH makes 4 cents/day, it would take forever to hit a block worth $280,000. Like over 20,000 years for a $200 setup making 7 cents a day. But with BCH, it’s a $1,500 block, so 75,000 days or 200 years. You get the picture.
Heads up to everyone watch out for oneminers dot com. Super sketchy mining company. Just look at their posting history, dude's trying to shill that place, and mod is deleting stuff left and right.
