Understanding Lightning Network Offline Transactions

How does the Lightning Network even work if one person is offline? Like, can the recipient still get their funds while they're not connected?

So, when using Electrum with Lightning, the sender needs to get an invoice from the receiver, right? But that means the receiver has to be online too. They gotta have the Electrum wallet open. There's also a bunch of other stuff, like making sure the route to the destination node is available and that there's enough inbound capacity. It can get complicated fast.

Yeah, exactly! Usually, the receiver has to be online to sign off on the transaction and update their balance. If they're offline, it won't work. But there are now third-party services that can help out. They have nodes that are online all the time to collect the funds for the receiver until they reconnect. I heard BlueWallet is a good example of this, so the coins can be routed to the receiver later.
