Started my investment journey today. Going for a steady wealth build-up with a World ETF. Just put in €100. I'm 36 now. After some wild years in crypto, I’m keeping it simple: buy, invest monthly, hold for years and let compound interest do its thing. Using a conservative estimate of 7% return. Let's see where this goes.

If you're putting money in bitcoin, you'll definitely see returns over the years. But why pick a centralized ETF over the real deal? I'm not a fan of bitcoin ETFs. If you’re in it for the long haul, just buy bitcoin, get it in your wallet where you control the keys.

Haha, a 'conservative return' of 7%? That's cute. Sounds like classic ETF shilling to me. Instead of pushing ETFs here, just buy bitcoin directly and skip all the nonsense.

Appreciate the thoughts. I get the love for Bitcoin. I've been in crypto too and own some. This isn't about pitting Bitcoin against ETFs. Just sharing my own journey and plans for my kids. I want to build a solid retirement fund, teach them about saving/investing, and let compounding do its magic.

I dig your plan. That 7% return sounds reasonable. Just a dad trying to set things up for the kids. But when they grow up, it’s on them to handle it wisely. If they can’t, you might hesitate to hand over those investments.

Exactly! At some point, it’s less about the money and more about their financial responsibility. In France, they’ll have control over that account once they’re adults. My goal is to give them a strong foundation, not control their choices.

You’re doing what every responsible parent should. But it’s really on them whether they invest it wisely or splurge it all. Hopefully, they learn the value of your hard work before anything goes south.
