Hey guys,
I’m here for some help, if there’s any chance of saving my wallet. I was using Trust Wallet’s Chrome extension in a separate profile. Worked fine until I switched up the proxy settings. Now it just shows "Oops! An error occurred" and won't load, even after going back to the old settings.
In the console, there’s this error about converting something...
Did you try reaching out to their support?
You mentioned nothing about that. Also, back everything related to the extension. I found a guide for exporting local storage here. Not sure if it works for Trust Wallet specifically but it’s worth a shot.
Checked the extension storage, looks a bit like how MetaMask stores its data. Kinda tricky since Trust Wallet isn’t open source.
If you want to retrieve it, you could export from Chrome’s DevTools under Application, and then find "trust:vault" under Extension Storage. But, they don’t have a vault decryption tool like MetaMask, which complicates things.
Seriously though, it's a shame you didn’t back up your seed phrase when you set up. Trust Wallet is still non-custodial, so you should’ve had access to your seeds. Hope this is a lesson learned, and next time you’ll do it right.
Good luck getting help from their support, but I’m not optimistic.
If you didn’t save the seed phrase, your best bet is to copy that Chrome profile before messing around more.
Think of it like a crime scene don’t touch anything. Just because you changed the proxy doesn’t mean your keys vanished, but it could crash the extension if it’s looking for a connection and can’t find it.
Why are people still using Trust Wallet after that $6M loss incident?
I use the mobile app just for airdrops. At this point, unless you have a seed backup, I doubt there’s much hope for recovery. Trust Wallet support might be your only option.
