Thoughts on $150 BitAxe Solo Miner?

Hey, what’s everyone’s take on this? Is it even worth $150 with just 500GH/sec?

Honestly, these are great for solo mining. They run low power and are quiet. Plus they're open-source. Just buy from someone trustworthy and you’ll be good. I've pushed mine to around 650GH/s with some cooling tweaks.

I think it’s overpriced. The Avalon Nano 3 is way better for low-cost, low-power mining.

But only selling Avalon on crowdfunding sites? That’s kinda lame. I’m still waiting for mine from February.

Yeah, delivery on the Nano 3 was super slow. But comparing 4TB to 0.5TB and $150 to $250+... it’s night and day. Plus, it’s hurting my sales of modified S19's.

Good point! But why such slow sales? Is production off? Maybe it’s a test-run product? I doubt they’re trying to kill competition though.

Sounds more like a side project, honestly. They threw something together to test the waters. If it sells, cool, if not, whatever. As a public company, they have to justify spending.

If the Nano 3 wasn't mediocre at the low end, it’d be cooler. $200 for under 60W/TH? Nah. Axe is more efficient for most uses right now.

But I gotta say, the LuckyMiners are just Bitaxe knock-offs. Quality control is really spotty on those.

Totally agree, prices are good on Nano 3 but I wouldn’t compare it to Apollo II for solo mining.

They definitely need efficient low-power gear. I’ve tried various small miners and nothing beats the Nano 3 in terms of value.

There’s something called 0xAxe out now. 16 chips doing 8 TH/s at just 190W. Looking forward to the next version!

Honestly baffled by Avalon’s new Nano. A few years back, they claimed low-power wasn’t worth it.

For sure, the Nano 3 looks nice on paper, but try buying it at that price. And 140W max? Not really a heater.

They’re cheap because they’re using rejected ASICs. Charges like $150 but it really costs more to make.

They’re going after small miners for sure. I’ve tried many, but BitAxe and BitChimney stand out. Free power makes a huge difference.

Right? Two Nano 3s can earn decent profit then. Meanwhile, BitAxe is like a thousand days to break even.
