Hey, can anyone verify if TeslaWatt is really building that solar site in Tonopah for crypto mining at 0.029 cents per kWh? Sounds sketchy to me.

Never heard of them. Just checked, and electricity costs in Nevada are usually around 7 to 17 cents per kWh. Honestly, I’d be cautious.

Solar panels aren’t gonna help at night. What’s their payback plan? Need more info to analyze.

They’re legit. I talked to them a few times but passed. They wanted a 20 kW commitment at 7 cents per kWh for 2024.

So you didn’t ask them how they handle nighttime power? Or are they planning to set up a bike team to generate power?

They mentioned batteries for night use. But they want a $50k investment for panels, batteries, and a miner. They claim a refund after a year.

Their terms seem different than what I saw. But here’s an idea: check out altaitech.io. Buy a few S21 miners, contact my host and save money big time.

Anyone know if the IRS refunds investments in renewable energy for low-income areas?

If there’s a program, why not ask them for details? Doesn’t seem smart to invest without more info. Miners generally use solar power during the day and buy at night.

Unless they’ve got batteries like TeslaWatt is claiming...

You can get 4% on cash. I’m getting around 3.8% on PayPal. You could just invest that and buy BTC instead of risking 50k.

Have you used a Calculator for UPS and batteries? I tried with 5kW for 10 hours. It suggested pretty huge battery capacity.

You’re thinking of grid-scale storage or like car batteries. They can handle the needed kWh.

352,942 Ah sounds way too much. A solid setup should be 95% efficient. You don’t wanna drain below 50%. That’s just basic energy math.

I’ve used technical docs to calculate UPS for servers. Usually, they run for minutes, not hours. Big companies use generators for backup.

Thanks, Phillip. So we’d need two sets of panels. One for daytime ASIC operation and another for charging.

Can anyone confirm if the IRS can refund this type of investment? If TeslaWatt claims over 100% back in a year, sounds too good.

Dude, dropping 50k for a miner setup seems wild. What’s your return on that? Looks like a scam to me.

An S21 does about $10.60 a day. But you’ll need a solid setup to run it around the clock, not easy.

If the IRS were giving back $50k, there’d be a line of investors. In my country, selling electricity needs a license, too.
