Hey everyone, the roof of my mining space started leaking... not great.

Ouch, that's rough! Did everything get fried, or did some components survive?

That’s a bummer. Hope you can bounce back soon! Hiring an electrician could help prevent stuff like this.

Any smart cameras or smoke detectors in place?

Man, that’s a real hit. Glad it didn’t all burn down. Good luck getting everything back up!

Hope you’re working on those losses already. Covering that space with metal might help next time. And yeah, try using plastic pipes for wiring. Have a pic of your electrical panel?

Crazy damage! Did rainwater hit the PDU and mess it up? What kinda Avalons you got?

I got tarps indoors for leaks. Lost a few units to roof issues.

Same here, only a couple were lost for me too. Weird how the circuit breaker didn’t trip. Lesson learned.

Yep, that’s what happened. I think they're 851 models. Love the series connection but they’re not as solid as Antminers. Had protection but it didn’t kick in. Pic coming soon!

So, what's your take on 'smart' gear? Just regular cameras for you, huh? No smoke alarms?

That’s right, the regular cameras weren’t enough this time. Gotta set up better next time.

Tons of "smart" stuff out there...but how’d a 2007 phone become a smartphone? Weird. Quick question for you. Is having cameras common in mining setups? Just for theft?

Cameras and locks, plus several circuits with extra breakers. We lost a couple of units, but a fire like that would be rare for us.

I’ve got a face-recognition camera for entry and others around the shed. Voltage stability was the main issue for me. That’s what fried some power supplies.

Not a mining farm, just a warehouse for food distribution. Owner had a cheap power deal and lost an ice cream company.

That’s interesting! Didn’t expect mining to pop up in a food place.

Man, that’s gut-wrenching to see! Even though I'm out of the game, I feel for you. Hope you make massive upgrades.

Yeah! Check this out. Crazy mining news Chinese are hunting for places to set up big operations. I found 30MW at about 35 cents per KWH. Might expand my setup.

I’m still waiting on my Chinese contacts... thinking about starting mining in those cheap spots then reselling equipment. Got any tips for legal stuff or pricing?
