I'm pretty into Bitcoin and have a lot of networking knowledge. Got some ideas about fixing weaknesses in the Bitcoin architecture that could be a target for those wanting to take it down. Where should I share these thoughts?

Most likely the Bitcoin Discussion area is the place for that.

Honestly, a "fix for weaknesses" sounds kinda technical. Might not belong in Bitcoin Discussion. I think it’d fit better in the Bitcoin Technical Support board, or if it’s about mining, maybe that section. You could post it here first and see if mods move it.

Sounds interesting! I wanna hear what you think, but shutting down Bitcoin seems pretty tough. Probably as hard as shutting down the whole internet, right? Anyway, I’m curious about those weaknesses.

For more on this, check @yileku462. I’ve seen some good videos that discuss potential threats to Bitcoin. Like, what if ISPs get pressured to block certain ports that Bitcoin uses? That could halt blockchain updates. Thoughts?

Where's this convo happening? So your goal is to tackle that port-blocking issue? Honestly, the likelihood that governments can block access seems exaggerated. Sure, they could make ISPs do it, but people would just switch ports or randomize them, right? Anyway, I agree this should go to development & tech discussion.

I’m just trying to highlight this weakness in Bitcoin so it can be less exposed. Feel free to move this chat to the right group if needed.

With the number of nodes on TOR, it really isn't a big deal. Even if some ISPs block ports, others won't. Plus, with VPNs and people managing their own BGP, they can still do their thing.

I disagree with that. I don’t even use the standard port for my Bitcoin setup and it still works perfectly. The port is just part of how nodes communicate. Change the port, and it's all good.
