there's already some threads here on this topic. might wanna check those out. but yeah, electricity is a huge factor. high costs can eat up your profits.
if we talk numbers, that 200k is around 3 BTC at 63k each. I’d just rather hold that bitcoin than deal with mining headaches. you need miners, cheap power, and maintenance. if you lack those, don’t even start.
totally agree. just buy some BTC and chill. mining’s a gamble. with the rising difficulty and recent halving, now’s not the time to jump in. besides, you might get rekt before you even learn the ropes.
great time to start if you can secure cheap power, like 5 or 6 cents per kWh. I’ve modded some S21s and they’re beasts for mining. if I had to choose between 200k in BTC or setting up a mine with cheap power, I’d go for the mine.
I’m gonna wait for better models from Canaan or MicroBT. if their S21 Pro is as efficient as they say, it could be worth it. but yeah, otherwise I'll stick with the S21 Pro.
I heard from some Russian miners. they have modest setups but their costs for mining are around 30-35k. seems like mining can be more profitable than buying at high prices.
