Soundproofing Solutions for Mining Rigs

Mining rigs generate a lot of heat, so cooling is key. But more cooling means more noise. If you're near houses, that noise can really get annoying for the neighbors. So, sound insulation is essential to keep things bearable.

This is all about ASIC miners I guess. I get it, noise is a real issue. But if you're worried about it, maybe mining isn't for you. I've seen too many small miners thinking they’ll hit it big when profits are super tight. Most end up losing money anyway.

I’ll share my setup here. Just a single S17 Pro miner. It runs at 55 TH/s using 1850 watts with some firmware tweaks. You can even dial it down to 36 TH/s and use just 900 watts. It's pretty quiet, under 60 dB with some plywood and a mover's blanket.

What’s the cost for those sound insulators? I checked the site but found nothing. I'm guessing around $15 for a pack of 12, based on what I’ve seen elsewhere. But if they’re quality, could be pricier.

Yeah, certified materials aren’t cheap. They run about $80 to $150 per square meter. It all depends on how much you need to cover. For a small rig, one plate might do.
