Saw that a solo miner just mined Bitcoin block 912632 and scored around $340K. Crazy right? It's kinda wild to think they managed to get the whole block solo. Not sure if they had crazy hash power or just got really lucky. Feels like a rare event in Bitcoin mining history.

Honestly, solo miners are always in the game. Just check out these recent blocks mined solo: 912975, 912935, 912850, 912841. Not a fluke, happens more often than people think.

Old news, man. That was just a rental on solo.ckpool a couple of days ago. This isn't exactly a rare occurrence, if you ask me.

I was reading a post that said this solo miner had a setup with 61 Ph/s. That's like using 300 modern mining rigs. Talk about playing an expensive lottery. Plus, those energy costs gotta be insane.

Yeah it’s rare, but it definitely happens. Solo miners have snagged rewards before. Back when difficulty was lower and block rewards were higher, it was way more common. Higher hash rates help to solve the block quicker but it's still a gamble.

Super curious about what motivated this miner. With that kind of hash rate, he could be raking in $3,500 a day. But honestly, I wouldn’t mine solo like that unless he had a solid plan. Maybe he just got lucky.

It's like winning the lottery for miners. I wouldn't suggest anyone go down that path though. Setting up the gear and covering electric bills can far exceed what you'd get back. It's like gambling!

What’s the minimum hash rate to find a block anyway? I heard 400 Giga hashes somewhere.

On Solo Sk pools, you can mine with any hash rate. The pool owner sets the minimum. Honestly, no point in trying to mine solo with weak hardware.

The motivation? Probably to get rich quick, like lottery players. Gotta think he wouldn’t go solo otherwise. Lucky guy pocketed that $340K.

I caught wind of another miner from Bitaxe who got a block at 500 Giga hashes. Made me realize it’s really just about luck and you don’t need a massive ASIC setup.

This is just pure luck, or like winning a lottery twice. Tons of miners out there, but not much news on them actually profiting. Seems like only industrial-grade setups are making it in solo mining now.
