Seeking Advice on Old Wallet File from 2010 DOS Mining

I did some digging and found info on how to mine back then in archived forum versions. Block rewards were definitely 50 BTC, so you couldn’t have mined that many without receiving some elsewhere.

Stop hammering on about MS DOS. You probably ran some mining executable through CMD in Windows XP or 7. That’s not true DOS.

And if you mined with a pool, you wouldn’t have gotten a full block reward. It’s a rare thing to mine solo without a good setup.

So pywallet can scan the whole drive, right? I’m pretty sure something like that exists. There weren’t any mining pools back then, were there?

Pywallet does, but I'm not sure if wallet.dat from 2010 used Berkeley DB yet. You might want to check the whole discussion. Slush’s mining pool did exist, and Gavin created a faucet in 2010 too.
