Hey folks!
Finally got some time to share my thoughts on the Hotmine X6 upgrade kit for Antminer S5, and supposedly it works for S3 as well. Let's dig into it.

This kit looks pretty solid. The X6 miner delivers around 6.1 Th and runs on a 12V ATX PSU, the Hipro HPH850W. That PSU was part of my setup for a conference demo.

Man, Bitfury chips? How did they manage to score such a deal? Seriously, how did they even get enough for a whole batch?

Thanks, Nikon L21 camera is a lifesaver.

Where can we actually buy these?
My 1000W PSU can easily hit 13V, so it would be perfect for the X6 or even the X5 upgrade.

OMG they finally did it!
Gonna keep my eyes glued to this thread for the sale date.

Seriously, where do I get one? I’ve got four S5s just waiting for an upgrade.

Wow, you mentioned it could work with an S3. I have a C1. Any chance it’ll work with that?

Looking sharp. Fingers crossed for a demo before New Year, like they promised.

Here’s the link to the manufacturer: http://en.hotmine.io/x5-x6-upgrade-kit-new
Feel free to throw your questions there too. They even have a rep here.

#11 Apr 28, 2020, 09:22 PM Right now, I can't get more than 8.3 Th from this unit. My PSUs max out at 13.4 V. But devs say it can hit 8.8 Th if you use the Meanwell RSP-1500-12.

#13 Apr 29, 2020, 03:28 AM I sent emails through their site and PMed the forum rep... no reply in over a month.
Maybe it’s because I'm American and don’t speak any other language...

#15 Apr 29, 2020, 09:11 PM Probably because BTC price is rising, so they're too busy mining instead of selling miners.

#18 Apr 30, 2020, 12:32 PM Too bad, though. I’d really like a 500-watt version.
I think sidehack's been wanting to make this happen for ages.

Closer than ever, right? Both sample chips and funding lined up. Gonna prototype with BF16 ASAP once I’m done with some other projects.

Wow, two years already? I thought of this when ASICMiner shared BE300 results back in December 2014.
