I've been renting mining rigs from different sites like miningringrentals and nicehash, focusing on solo pools like ck and viabtc. Been playing around with cgminer and some solomining python scripts too. Honestly, from what I've seen, renting big hashpower for a short time tends to work out better than low hashpower for a longer stretch. Like, 10 th for one day vs 1 th for ten days same cash outlay, but bigger bang for your buck. Anyone else feel the same or have different experiences?
Renting High Hashpower for Short Time vs Low Hashpower for Long Time

Dude, this is like gambling, right? Would you rather lose 300 bucks at once or 10 bucks thirty times? The end result is still the same. It really comes down to play style fast versus slow. Just don’t let it get out of hand, that’s the key.
True, but with Bitcoin mining, difficulty always goes up. I’d lean towards renting 300 th for a single day if you want better odds.
I'm not so sure about that. If you look at it from a memoryless perspective of SHA256 mining, the options are kinda equal. Just the days and hash rates change, but total hashes end up being the same. So 10 th for one day vs 1 th for ten days is basically the same expected value, right?
Nah, I gotta disagree there. Bigger rentals definitely have an edge. Like, if you go for at least 1 ph, you’re pulling from multiple sources. That means better chances of a solid connection. Renting just 100 th might limit you to poor setups, like one or two units with bad connections.
