Honestly, I don't think it will mess with mining or wallets. Developers will probably just roll out a quantum-resistant update that everyone will need.

FTFY. SHA-256 isn't the weak link here. ECDSA is where the trouble lies. If someone had a quantum computer with Shor's algorithm now, they'd go after old P2PK transactions first.

Just try it out. There are plenty of ways to test SHA-256 vulnerabilities. It’s a spectrum, not just black and white. Some attacks might impact certain things but not others.
That article's author clearly doesn’t get Bitcoin. Mixing up private addresses with private keys is basic stuff. No way someone could mine 2016 blocks in a minute and not cause chaos.
