Hey everyone!
I’ve been tinkering with a BM1387-based miner, you know, the chip from the Antminer S9. It's still not fully functional but I threw my design files up on GitHub if anyone wants to take a look or contribute.
Check it out here: https://github.com/skot/bitaxe

Cool project!
But it sounds like you're missing a driver to get those chips talking. The driver is like the secret sauce from the chip maker. I remember that S9’s source code is floating around, so maybe it has what you need. Sidehack had similar issues with early devices until things were released by Bitmain.
Yo, NotFuzzyWarm!
For the S9, there’s a handy repair guide out there, explains how BM1387s are wired up together. They connect with async serial. You can use a 1.8V USB-Serial adapter to chat with them directly.
But, I haven’t found anything on the actual protocol or register map for BM1387. I’d love to snag that if it exists!

Skot, could you share the pinouts and any datasheets for the BM1387?
And do you have the register map? Just need a little guidance.
I stumbled upon something that looked kinda like a register map, but not much else.
Anyone know if there's more detailed info available?
