When you check your account on an exchange, do you notice that it shows your total balance at the top? I’m talking about the Android app, by the way. Some exchanges display it in dollars, others in bitcoin. Some even let you switch between different currencies.
I prefer seeing my balance in fiat. Since I treat my exchange funds as spending money, knowing the dollar value helps me understand my purchasing power. My long-term investments are in a hardware wallet.
If they’re changing this up, I wonder how they’re notifying users. Deleting and reinstalling the app seems a bit extreme. I guess they want everyone to see USD by default now.
My view differs a bit. I’m all about USD for balance display since it helps me keep track of how much I’ve deposited and how many coins I bought. I can easily calculate my profits this way.
Oh, and by the way, they do allow viewing in fiat too. Like on Binance, if you switch to bitcoin, the USD amount shows up below. It's similar on Bitget.
Totally possible they’re catering to newbies. BTC can be intimidating, so showing USD might be friendlier. Honestly, I like keeping track of my bitcoin too.
