Been using Coinbase since Bitcoin was super cheap. Just moved some BTC to my wallet like usual. Now I log in and see my account is restricted. What the heck? Support says I can only withdraw my coins but can't do anything else. They won't explain why and that’s the final word. Seriously? Can't even call them for answers.

What wallet are you using? Did you send it to a specific site?

I have Electrum and Exodus, both desktop wallets. I transferred my BTC like always. No extra info from them, just can withdraw but not trade anymore. It might be my bank or something, but I’ve been with them for 2 years.

Did you verify your ID? I thought they needed that for all transactions since a few years ago.

Yeah, I did that ages ago.

Well, depending on where you live, they might not even have to tell you why they restricted you. That's just how it works. They might have traced your transactions and linked them to something sketchy.

Yeah, that makes sense. I’m in California.

There are so many stories like this. Automation is a mess and mistakes happen all the time. I had my account frozen by a different bank for no reason. I learned not to keep funds there.

I think it’s ridiculous for such a big company to act like this, especially with US citizens. What about others overseas? You might need legal advice, but that's costly. Alternatively, you could just ditch them and find another exchange.

Thanks for the input. They really messed up how to handle this. Back then when BTC was $32, Coinbase was the only player in the game.

If you've been in the scene this long, why stick with Coinbase? I got banned years ago and honestly, I didn’t care.

Maybe they freaked out over the amount you moved or the addresses you sent to. They probably have tools that track coins and if anything looks bad, they’ll freeze you.

Yep, I've heard that before. Once they see something suspicious, they shut it down.

It’s odd they won’t tell you anything. At least you can get your money out. Some people might actually be doing shady stuff, even if you’re not.

Yeah, like my local wallet provider just locked me out thinking I was into money laundering. So frustrating.

You probably sent or received from a gambling site or something. Just pull your funds and find a better wallet.

For sure, they clearly tracked your transactions. If they see anything tied to certain risky services, you're flagged. Doesn’t matter if you didn’t do anything wrong.

Exactly, they’ll freeze your account for any little suspicious activity they think you’ve done. Even sending to a wallet known for gambling could get you flagged.

At least they let you take your BTC out.
