Haven't seen any threads about biogas for mining. But there are some on flare gas from oil wells. Just search for "flare gas mining". Same generators are used for both. You need a Prime Power rated generator for non-stop operation, unlike typical backup generators that need regular maintenance.
If you want a specific cost for a biowaste generator, I doubt you'll find it here. Honestly, considering you're in Nigeria, solar might be a simpler and more effective option. Everyone knows how to set it up and the sun is intense there.

That’s not accurate. Basic Bitcoin mining just involves solving a simple double SHA256. No need for fancy tech to explain it.
But what about when it rains? How do solar miners keep mining during the rainy season?
They probably have backup plans to deal with seasonal changes. Just gotta research solar power for your specific area.

Biowaste and biomass are a bit different. So, to keep it simple: biowaste like manure is inefficient and costly, even with subsidies. It’s a hassle and not great for large-scale mining. I’ve dealt with it, and trust me, it’s not worth it.
Good point. If your generators waste energy, it doesn’t matter what your power source is. Most generators in Africa are old and not built for today's demand.
